About the Artist:
Betty McGlamery lives in Marietta, Georgia and works primarily in oils and acrylics.  She enjoys plein air painting and has been spending half of her time painting in South Georgia. She earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Art Education from Florida State University and has been painting for most of forty years.  She is a member of Gallery 4463, Acworth, GA. And is a member of Oil Painters of America.

Betty’s Art Philosophy:
“Working primarily in oils, I strive to produce between six and eight paintings a month and to always keep the quality as high as I can.  Instead of focusing on painting in a detailed and factual manner, I aim to emphasize shapes and to reduce each scene to its essential elements by focusing on color, light and atmosphere.  With every painting I strive to be conscious of the elements of color and value and to create contrasting relationships of hard and soft edges, warm and cool colors and dark and light values.  If a particular scene moves me, it is my upmost goal to communicate that emotion on canvass.”
