Brief Description:
"Seen from above, this government building in Germany becomes an abstract design and the key element of the painting.  Reduced to the circular elements, the details are softened and somber by the use of gray. What I tried to achieve is to extract the graphic essence and use my color sensibility to pull the composition together."

About the Artist:
Born in Philadelphia, I studied Painting at the Philadelphia College of Art and studied graphic design at the School of Visual Arts. A Manhattan-based artist and graphic designer, my work is featured in private and corporate collections and has been in many exhibitions including solo shows in New York e.g. James Beard Gallery, Rockefeller Gallery, NY Studio Gallery in Chelsea, Interchurch Center, National Arts Club. A selection of group shows includes Pen and Brush Gallery, Dacia Gallery, The Chelsea Art Museum. Also Kaller Fine Arts in Washington, DC and Riverside Gallery in NJ. I'm an active member and exhibitor at the National Arts Club.

Toni's Artist Statement:
"My aerial-view paintings represent diverse places and spaces of the contemporary landscape seen from an above ground perspective. The flattened surface planes convey the textures of abstract space enhanced by compositional aesthetics and skillful use of color. From the elevated position of high-rise buildings and helicopters, my images of cities and towns, factories and farmlands, power plants, suburban communities and highways are delivered with a distinctive angle on structures frequently taken for granted.
Through the aerial vantage point one discovers a modern perspective and fresh visual vocabulary. The flattened plane reduces details to strong graphic images. Overall, I strive to blend a fresh perspective with a savvy demonstration of the power of color and composition."
